The days are getting shorter and the cozy season has begun. We are already preparing for this year’s Christmas campaign for children and young people in Lithuania.

For 28 years, it has been a matter close to our hearts to give joy with our Christmas campaign.
This year, with your help, we would like to make the following gifts and projects possible:
- for the 40 or so teenagers and young adults in the PATRIA program:
a practical electric blender with either a recipe book or a book with useful household tips. - for the 9 children in the Sonata House:
here is a wish list with individual small wishes that we would very much like to fulfill. - for the caregivers of the children at Sonata Haus:
Shopping vouchers in recognition of their loving care. - for the PATRIA groups and the families at Sonata House:
financial support for the Christmas parties.
In addition to Christmas presents, there is still an urgent need for support for an important funding project. We are collecting donations to fund psychotherapy for teenagers and young adults. This year’s PATRIA camp at the end of August, which was attended by Ingrid, Simone and Otmar, unfortunately showed us once again that some of our protégés are struggling with significant mental health problems. Effective therapy, which involves up to 15 sessions, unfortunately incurs high costs in the four-figure range, which are not covered by the Lithuanian healthcare system. We therefore kindly ask for your support in order to provide these patients with the therapy they urgently need.
How you can help:
- Sponsor a gift for your sponsored child or a young person in the PATRIA program and donate 30€.
- Write a Christmas card to your sponsored child or a young person in the PATRIA program. Start with “Dear friend in the PATRIA program…” and feel free to add a photo. The children and young people are always very happy to receive mail from their German friends.
- We kindly ask for your support for the therapy sessions project and the gift campaign for the caregivers as well as the Christmas parties. Your donation of any amount is very welcome.

In our last newsletter, we introduced Darijus, who we have been supporting since his earliest childhood. Thanks to Otmar’s extraordinary commitment, Darijus’ dream has finally come true. His book was published on Amazon in June 2025.

We are pleased to inform you that your support is making a significant difference. As we reported in our last Christmas campaign, Laisvydas from the PATRIA team was very keen to set up a basketball team for disadvantaged young men.
Thanks to your generous support over the past year, this dream has now become a reality. The basketball team is complete and trains weekly. Your donations enable us to cover the hall rental, sports equipment, travel costs to games and the fees for participation in the regular league. We would like to thank you for your support and keep you informed of the team’s progress.
